Mastering Your Mind Power, With The Secret?

A couple of years ago, a phenomenon occurred globally, the likes of which may never have been witnessed before. A movie/DVD called The Secret was released introducing millions of people to the Law of Attraction and the impact it has on the power of the mind. Not only did the DVD sell in the millions, countless more people downloaded the movie and watched it over the internet.
Oprah Winfrey featured The Secret on several of her television shows. A number of people even offered personal testimonies sharing with the world that because of the new knowledge they received from The Secret, they are now enjoying more of the lives they desire. My guess is that millions of other people attempted to apply what they learned from the movie and many are probably still making an attempt attract more of what they desire. I imagine they were truly motivated by the information.
Since The Secret did not have detailed instructions for applying the information to gain mastery of their mind power, each person was left to devise his or her own instructions or use instructions from another program, a book, an article, or to attempt to make up instructions on the fly. I'm sure enthusiasm was high and definite goals were set. Affirmative visions danced in their minds as never before. Achieving success was sure.
Then a notice arrived announcing an upward adjustment in their adjustable interest rate, or a layoff notice showed up, along came a confrontation with one's significant other, etc. The old habitual thinking of the self image wasted little time re-asserting itself. Negative thoughts of fear, uncertainty, anger, self degradation, to name a few, quickly took or re-took center stage in their minds.
The enthusiasm, goals, and visions were then pushed into forgetfulness, becoming only fleeting memories as the self image firmly reminded them that those things were for OTHER PEOPLE and reassured them that they were safe once again in their old thought habits. I would also guess that very few of them have ever heard of the self image and therefore do not understand the enormous power it exercises in shaping the experiences they have.
Now there is no way for me to know for sure, but I strongly suspect that the number of people who succeeded in mastering their mind power and whose financial lives were changed for the better because of The Secret is relatively small. If you consider the housing mortgage debacle that has gripped the United States, the billions of dollars in losses reported by financial institutions around the world, and the hundreds of thousands of people who have lost their jobs because of it, my suspicions are somewhat confirmed.
Undoubtedly, every person that has seen The Secret wants better outcomes in their lives. They surely also recognize that something has to change for those realities to materialize. This I know for sure. You are the most miraculous of all living beings on earth. You are the owner of a mind that is so stupendous, that as you truly begin mastering your mind power and consciously using it, there is no dream that you can dream that you cannot achieve.
