Did you know that there's actually a science behind kissing? It's called
philematology. Now, I'm no expert in Greek, but I do know that the word
"phil" means "love of." And I definitely have a love for kissing! So allow
me, Michelle Penney, your resident kissing expert, to teach you a thing or
two about "philematology," the science behind great kissing.
Great kissing, to me, goes beyond just locking lips together. Think about
the science behind it: There's got to be great chemistry between you and
your lover, always some "physics" as you zero in on your partner's lips, and
if things go right, plenty of anatomy will be involved!
In short, there are three components to a great kiss:
1. Connection
2. Passion
3. Urgency
Let's look at each one in close detail:
1. Connection
A great kiss begins with great chemistry between two people. Before you can
effectively kiss a woman, you have to get to know her, find the connection
between the two of you, find out why he or she matters to you. There are
billions of people in the world. Why does this one mean so much to you that
you want to kiss him or her? If you can answer that question well, you can
kiss well, too! It all comes down to feeling something in your heart for a
person. Not anger, not hate, but a feeling so strong that you feel like you
have to kiss that person, right here, right now. Once that passion is
stirring in your heart, kissing with passion will just be natural.
2. Physical Sensation
Similar to having emotional chemistry, there's got to be some physical
connection between the two of you. This is where kissing technique and
ability come in handy. Sad to say, you can't just fall all over your lover's
face! You have to know how to effectively lock lips with a person, as well
as how to kiss other areas of your lover's body: his or her neck, ears, even
the wrists (one of the most erogenous areas of the human body!). Just like
chemistry requires the right mix of chemicals to make a concoction work, so
too does kissing. You have to mix your chemical emotions with the delivery
and expertise of a master chef making an expert dish of bouillabaisse. And
with my Kissing 101 e-book, you'll learn how.
3. Urgency
Finally, I consider the first kiss kind of like cooking a great bowl of
soup. That's right, cooking soup! When you cook a great dish of stew, you
have to know how long to let something cook, before you serve a dish. Wait
too long, and it won't taste good; the moment will have passed. But take it
out at just the right time...and you'll be in heaven!
Just like great kissing involves great timing, so too does it involve a
strong sense of urgency. Hey, when does food taste better, when you're
stuffed and full, or desperate and hungry for a great taste? Well, that's
kind of the way it is with kissing. A dish tastes best when it's been
brewing for a long time; when there's anticipation and excitement over it.
"I can't wait for my meal!" you exclaim over a fresh plate of rib eye steak
or fettucini alfredo. Same with kissing: When there's a lead-up to the
moment, when there's an urgency to "taste" your partner's lips, the
sensation is all the stronger. You just can't wait for your kiss! It's a
beautiful thing...and when done right, the kissing tastes great, too!
When you get these three steps down, there's no limit to what you can
accomplish in a kiss.
Still, many questions remain: What is the right kissing technique? Where
should you kiss, and how should you kiss? What do men and women specifically
look for from their lovers?
The answer to all these questions, and many more, is clear: My Kissing 101
